Questions

Who says you can't get something for nothing? Below are a few questions I am frequently asked from business people and individuals. I update this page whenever I think of new topics so check back.

I'm just a small operation, why do you think I need a web site?

If you rely on customers for your business then having a web site is the best way to make a good first impression. Let's say you own a small camera store. I need a new lens so I search Yahoo! for camera stores in the area. I get 3 or 4 results with addresses and phone numbers. I search the web for the name of the first camera store and find their web site. They have the lens I want and the price seems reasonable. You sell the same lens for $50 less, but when I search the web for your store I don't find anything so I buy the lens from your competitor.

People research companies, products and services on the web. If your site doesn't exist you've made no first impression on potential customers--which is as bad making a poor first impression.

I need a new computer - what should I get?

I recommend Dell systems. I've purchased four Dell systems over the years and they've always been reliable and trouble-free. On the one occasion where I did have a problem Dell support did an excellent job and had a field tech in my office the next day.

What software do you use for building web sites?

I've been using Macromedia Dreamweaver since it first came out in the late 1990's. It has been improved consistently over the years and remains the choice for many web-development professionals.
